Dawn is a first generation belly dancer with over 30 years experience. She started her career in South Florida where she performed nightly in Mediterranean nightclubs
to music played by live bands. She traveled throughout the US., Canada, South America and North Africa and earned her living by working solely as a belly dancer
for many years. Dawn has had the pleasure of performing with the great singers, Eddie "The Sheik" Kochak and George Abdo. She has also worked with many of the
best musicians in the field of Middle Eastern, Greek, Turkish, Armenian and Egyptian music through her long career in dancing. By studying and performing with many of the
greats in belly dance, she has honed her skill to the master level.
Some of her accomplishments include being the master choreographer for the Cypress Creek Marriott Hotel's Grand Ballroom international show for five consecutive years.
She sponsored dance seminars through her "Eye of the Pyramid" production company. She is the creative director of the A.M.E.N.A. fusion dancers, a multi-talented
group of ladies that bring belly dance to the Bible belt through fundraisers and haflas. Dawn is also the co-founder of the Wingmen Breast Cancer Run which
takes place every year in the month of October. The run merges belly dance with motorcycles to further increase breast cancer awareness. All proceeds of the
Run are given to a local family in crisis. She teaches "intensive workshops" designed to help students improve their skills in specific areas on belly
dance. Her "Stitch-n-Bitch" costume workshops are always popular with belly dance aficionados. Dawn has also had the privilege to be Mistress of Ceremonies for
Festival On The Nile for many years.
Being a club dancer, her favorite style of dance is Egyptian Cabaret but is well-versed in Turkish, Tribal and Fusion and enjoys creating choreography drawing
from these genres.
Dawn is an excellent instructor that believes in sharing her wealth of knowledge with her students. For the past 20 years she has been teaching classes for
beginners to professional level on a continuous basis. In order to keep her teaching and performing skills current and at their top level, she regularly
attends dance workshops and studies the latest styles of fusion dance. Her enthusiasm for this beautiful, amazing healing dance form is contagious.
We are thrilled to have her back by popular demand!
